Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated. *g* I haven't had RL issues or anything, I just haven't felt like posting lately, and haven't really had anything of interest happen. But, in case anyone's curious, here's a recap of the week I've been off:

* I lost my one and only auction at Sweet Charity! I am depressed. It would've been an AWESOME auction to win (a 10,000 word fic written to my specifications! ::mourns:: ) and I've been wanting the fic I was planning to request for, like, four months. It's one of those requests I want depserately to read, but have no real ideas myself for writing it.

* All six of my Sweet Charity goodies were purchased! Eeek! Collectively, I was sold for about $60. Naturally, IMO, the fic sold for more than the graphics, though now I shall be writing in fandoms I've either never written in before or have only written in a little. (I've got two "Dresden Files" requests from green_wing, who actually put up quite a fight to win me, and an "X-Men" movieverse request. I've written "X-Men" before, but this shall be my first movieverse fic, and it's also supposed to be "X3"-compliant, which I've never even THOUGHT of doing before. This is gonna be challenging. *g*)

* My Yuletide situation seems to have resolved itself in a permanent standstill. My author's not speaking to me.

* The weather here's been bloody awful! We're in the middle of a Snowpocalypse. ::is from California; cannot abide this::

* I've been working on rehoning my manipping skills. I think I'm not doing too badly, despite it having been years--PLURAL--since I have made any.

* Officially, my first book of 2008--which I am about halfway through and positively ADORE--is Niccolo Machiavelli's "The Prince." Borrowed it off of s8219, who got it because katers007 said it was absolutely necessary that she do so. So technically, it came recommended to me twice.

* ONE LAST CALL FOR ALCOHOL, PEOPLE! ninebillion (on LJ, for those getting the mirrored post) is closing sign-ups in ONE HOUR. At that point, you will have no more chances at participating in the gift exchange. You'll be able to volunteer to pinch-hit and you'll still be able to claim prompts, but if you want someone to write you something pretty, this is your very last chance to do so this round.

* I finished "Torchwood" S1.

* We almost bought puppies a few days ago! s8219 and I went to a pet store to get food for her fish (she has fish--started out with three, killed one--WITH CHOCOLATE; I am under express orders by katers007 to never, ever let her live that down--and then replaced it; all the fish have been named from "Heroes": Kensei, Yaeko, Hiro [deceased] and Shanti [replacement]). While we were there, we became absolutely SMITTEN with a pair of puppies. I fell in love with a long-haired minidachshund, whose hair was only long on his floppy little ears, which was so cute, I almost died. s8219 fell head over heels for a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, who also had fluffy, curly-haired ears. Both were sweet little guys who were cool with just being mellow and lying in our laps, and the only thing that stopped us from bringing them home was that they cost a collective $4,800. ::wishes to GOD I was making that up:: (They had financing plans for the puppies! The spaniel was $56 a month for five years, the dachshund $24 a month for five years. Neither of us had sufficient credit to even consider applying. A girl who worked there told us she hadn't had the credit to get one, either, and her score was 710. Just to give you an idea of how upscale these puppies apparently are.)

So...what's new with all of you? *g*

I feel stuffed to the gills on Chinese food. It's not a totally unpleasant fullness, but at the same time, I just feel stuffed and sleepy. Gyah.

I am oddly tired. I think it's because I actually slept at night. Not, y'know...the whole night or anything. But a good portion of it. I'm all thrown off.

Anyway, I'm currently divided between writing three different fics in three different fandoms (A:ts: "Pieces of Pieces," HP: "Epitaph" and a chapter of "Project: X-Men") and watching "Heroes." God, I love this show, and boy howdy, have I sucked s8219 in. She keeps getting ahead of me in the reruns! Like, watching a whole bunch at once. I keep having to catch up to where she is while she's asleep. (Not because there are any I haven't seen--there aren't--but just in case we decide to watch one together, it's good if we're on the same one) I'm actually a little ahead of her now--just watched "Company Man," otherwise known as THE EP OF AWESOMEST AWESOME. Seriously, that one, "Six Months Ago" and "Five Years Gone" are my top three. They're just that cool.

In other news, I made a slew of weird medical text-y anatomy icons of breasts and penises because I have occasional lapses in maturity and shouldn't be permitted to have access to Photoshop. In other-other news, this icon of awesome is making me try to Sort chars from non-"HP" fandoms. Therefore, inquiring minds want to know--Fred Burkle: Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw? Discuss.

As per the nearly-a-month-old request of harrysexmagick, I made some sexy Gryffindor icons, similar to my sexy Hufflepuff icons from before. These are NOT WORK SAFE.

There are eight in all, and all are gackable with credit. Commenting to tell me if/what you're taking would be divine. :-)

So I got bored and made icons again. I think this is the most I've ever posted at once--a round dozen. They're all "HP," because kita0610's Ravenclaw icons are all smokin' and I was jealous as hell that there are no similarly sexy-as-hell icons for Hufflepuff (that I know of).

Well, I finally finished and scanned my sketch of shirtless VK. True to form, I think it sucks. I re-did his mouth twenty-two times, and never got it right, so before commenting on how much his mouth sucks, believe me, I know. However, my dad looked over my shoulder while I was drawing and said, "Hey, it's that Connor guy," so I think he's probably recognizable.

Oh, also? Darla tried to ink it for me. Hence the...one black nipple. Not my fault!

Last night, I had a nightmare and could not sleep, so I made my second most depressing batch of icons ever. Tonight, I saw "POTC: AWE" and it broke my fucking heart into tiny, little pieces, so now I'm posting my second most depressing batch of icons ever. There are twelve, all of them Whedonverse. My theme was the lyrics to Ludacris' "Runaway Love," the only rap song to date that I can stand. Coincidentally, it's also the only rap song that makes me cry.
